Filming Blog

November 29th was my first shooting day of my music video. Song is by Bruno Mars called grenade. On my first filming of this music video. I did the following. For the beginning of the music video my brother walked around through the house. This created the dialoge that was needed. This dialouge would give the R&B music video feel as he walked through the house slowly with the music playing. After scene was finished i moved to scene 2. Scene 2 was of him entering the room while I am then sitting on the bed. As he enters the room the song begins to play. I start to sing the lyrics as I am sitting on the bed. As the camera gets closer and closer to me. Once scene 2 has concluded. I began to shoot scene 3 of the music video. During this shooting I am getting up from the bed walking towards the door. As I am approaching the door I pick up the trash that is sitting next to the door. As i continue to sing the lyrics I walk out the door. This then leads to scene 5. In this shot of the...

Planning Storyboard for my Music Video

Image
For my music video I have the storyboard showing how it's gonna all go. In the first scene of the music video will start off with a black screen. To give the dialogue intro showing the R&B music video intro that are commonly used in most R&B videos. In the second scene will be a door being opened cuing the start of the music. Ending the dialogue starting the music video. In the third scene will be me being filmed sitting on the bed singing the song . Giving the R&B vibe as the door opens. The 4th scene will be me getting up from the bed walking towards the front door. Scene 5 will be reaching the door pulling the door open. Scene 5 will be opening up the door to a sunny day. Scene 6 will be me walking towards on the side walk with me carrying a trash bag on my back. Scene 7 is me reaching the driveway continuing to sing the song giving the R&B vibe while I still have the trash on my back. Scene 8-10 is me still walking to the trash. Once I arrive at the trash in s...

Planning for my Music Video

Image
The title of my song is Grenade. This song is R&B star Bruno Mars. For my music video I will be having a couple of props. My props will consist of the following. A camera, a black trash bag full of trash, a dumpster, and a bed. This will allow me to give off the R&B vibe I am trying to give off. The costumes I will be wearing will be all black clothing. This music video is scheduled to take place Tuesday November 19, 2020. Giving me enough time to make any edits or adjust the video to meet my standards. This will be located in my driveway. On a sunny day or during the night. During the night will instantly give off a R&B music video vibe. My backup plan is to move the video shoot to the park so I am able to still have the long walk that is needed.

Research Blog: Music Video Conventions

Image
There are many different conventions in the song genre I have chosen. The song genre of Grenade by Bruno Mars is of R&B. In this genre many conventions are involved. Such as the type of lights you are expected to see in a R&B music video. For example depending on the song it can be very bright lights that pop out at you to grab your attention. Another type of light you are to see in an R&B music video be very dim lights to give the aspect of the song if it starts off as a slow song. Lastly the natural lighting could be used because another type of light is not needed for the music video. Another type of convention is the start of a good majority of R&B songs is the start of the music video. Some music videos start off with a dialogue starting the song up to 10-20 seconds after the dialogue is over. This gives transition into the depth of the song making you wanting to see what happens next as the song is going on. Another convention would be the clothing the male a...

Introduction to the Music Video Project

Image
For this project I have chosen to work by myself. I have chosen to work by myself for this project because I feel that it is more efficient working alone on certain things. Over my school career I have found that working alone you can just worry about yourself and don't have to wait for anyone. Like of someone couldn't come to the meeting spot. Another would be if they forgot the props or costumes that were needed for the project. Without them the project would not be able to commence. So working alone has seen to be the better route for me. You are also able to get the project done much faster than working in a group. The song I have chosen for this project is Grenade by Bruno Mars. I've chosen this song because it gives a strong message. This message is saying that Bruno would catch a grenade for his woman but she wouldn't do the same in return. So I've chosen to do this song for my Music Video.

Creative Critical Reflection: Blog

 1. My commercial challenges convention by giving a display on how "Nike" commercial would go. In the commercial it displays the athletes and how they use Nike products for their sports.   2. My product engages with the audience by giving a representation of how a track athlete warms up in their Nike gear. It would be showed to the media by advertised though the television or social media apps.  3. My production skill developed by the editing skills improving. My transition were more smooth than my last product.  4. I integrated hardware to software by taking the videos from my phone and uploading it to my computer. I then would upload the videos from my computer to Youtube. Allowing it to be displayed to anyone that is how I integrated social media.

Jordan Givens Nike Commercial

Image
This commercial talks about my product. My product was based on Nike. This was a Nike commercial on how you can see many athletes use Nike products or gear during their training or workouts. It gives a storyline throughout the commercial so you are able to understand what is going on. During this commercial it was hard work to make. Through each scene the transitions are very clean cut. This commercial had at least 2 different camera angles. Giving it that look of a real commercial to keep the audiences attention. The lighting during this commercial was everything a real Nike commercial would have. That natural sun light giving it a natural look as if during the commercial a actual work is taking place. The editing process for this commercial was the best part. It was pretty challenging but I was able to edit it properly. The background sound gives it that official Nike commercial vibe. After all editing had taken place. I uploaded this commercial from my phone to the comp...

Editing Blog: Making the right Duration

Once all the scenes were aligned in order they needed to be edited. I needed to make sure the transition between each scene was timed good. This included editing and the speed time. All scenes were included. A little amount of time had to be cut off each one. Once I finished the editing i saw that the duration was a little over 30 seconds. I then went to see which scenes needed some time shaved off of them. I then cut sometime off of the 4th scene. In order to have the right amount of time. 30 seconds. More editing came into play once i had to edit the last scene. I had to figure out how to edit the screen to fade into darkness. Once i figured that out. I was able to put the Nike Just Do It slogan at the end of the last scene. Concluding the commercial. I then achieved a grand total of 30 seconds.
